Are mobile apps useful tools for construction education?
🥁 Exciting announcement: “CAMPUS: A mobile app for construction processes learning and teaching in higher education” is now published. Our latest research article compiles the results from a collaborative work leaded by Carolina Valbuena in collaboration with Alejandro Serrano and César Manuel Granados-León., and in partnership with Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Facilities Direction Javier Forero.
What are we studying here?
🏗 Physical campus transformation is conceived as a learning laboratory in construction. We aim to establish the effectiveness of a mobile app(CAMPUS Javeriana) as a tool for construction education, including digital technologies like #BIM models, #virtualreality, #augmentedreality, among others.
What are our major contributions?
📱 The study suggests that an app, such as CAMPUS Javeriana, has the potential to improve academic outcomes and student performance in courses related to construction, shedding light into technology-driven courses and teaching methods.
Why it matters?
🤖 New learning methods and educational strategies providing better engagement and developing construction-wise practical skills can reduce the knowledge gap in educational settings where access to construction sites is limited.
Who can benefit from this publication?
🪄 Architecture and Civil Engineering professors, built environment courses from universities, technology-oriented professionals in the construction industry, and construction and innovation students and enthusiasts.
What’s next?
💥 Campus Javeriana team, leaded by Daniela Carrasco, is about to release stage 2 of the project. Stay tuned!
