GRIMET is the Materials, Structures and Technology research group from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
At GRIMET we seek for the promotion and development of interdisciplinary research, focused on innovation and improvement of architecture, engineering, infrastructure and building construction fields.
We look forward to develop studies in the field of architecture, civil engineering and construction, focused on the research and study of new technologies, methodologies and innovation projects applied to both heritage and new buildings and infrastructure, throughout their life cycle (conception, design, construction, operation, remodeling, rehabilitation, maintenance, etc.), thus integrating the knowledge of the Faculties of Architecture and Design, Engineering and Sciences and opening the doors to the development of interdisciplinary projects in line with the core functions of the University: Teaching, Research and Service.
Research lines and sublines
We perform research on three general lines: materials, structures and technology.
From those lines, we perform research on more specific research lines we call sublines.
Materials
Research focused on the study of the physicochemical and physicomechanical characteristics of materials and their reaction to the action of phenomena that may alter these characteristics.
Structures
Research focused on the study of the behavior and characteristics of structural elements and systems of buildings and infrastructure.
Technology
Research seeking to strengthen and investigate strategies and methodologies that allow an adequate appropriation of new tools, methodologies and technologies in the design, construction and intervention of the built environment.
Researchers
Currently, we are a group of 10 researchers from 3 Faculties.
Architecture and Design Faculty
Academic and Social Networks
At GRIMET, we are open to collaborations, ideas and suggestions.
