Heading to Purdue for #WBC2025!

I'm proud to be representing both Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and Universidad de Los Andes at the upcoming World Building Congress 2025, hosted by Purdue University this May in West Lafayette, Indiana, USA:

  • First, I'll be presenting the early findings of my PhD research at the Doctoral School. My work explores how developing countries can improve their construction industries by innovating in ways that make sense for their local realities — rather than copying models from elsewhere. The goal is to support smarter, more sustainable growth in the sector.
  • Second, I'll also be presenting a conference paper titled: "Mapping Construction 4.0 and Sustainability for Innovation in the Construction Industry of Developing Countries," co-authored with Dr. Nelly Garcia Lopez. This paper explores how digital technologies and sustainability can work together to drive innovation in construction.

I'm very grateful to CIB, International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction for the travel grant, and to Universidad de Los Andes for additional financial support — which is making this opportunity possible.

If you're interested in construction innovation, sustainability, or how the built environment can shape a better future, I invite you to register for WBC2025.

and join the global conversation:
